Materials Science and Applied Chemistry is a single blind peer reviewed journal published once a year in May Journal covers research in different branches of chemistry and chemical technology, biotechnology, materials science, physics and biomechanics.

Topics of MSAC Journal have polytechnic character and cover a broad field of research directions especially interdisciplinary research in:

    1. Materials science: ceramics and glasses, polymers, composites and functional materials,
    2. Material engineering and chemical engineering,
    3. Applied chemistry in particularly pharmaceutical substances and bioorganic chemistry.

Materials Science and Applied Chemistry is a single blind peer reviewed journal. Journal is indexed by wide spectra of abstracting and indexing databases.

Why submit

There are no publication charges. Submitting in MSAC means rapid publication: submit in March and if accepted get published in May. Articles are open access, so your article reaches broader audience.

Peer Review Process

Materials Science and Applied Chemistry is a single blind peer reviewed journal. Manuscript are evaluated by two reviewers.

 

Publication Frequency

Materials Science and Applied Chemistry journal is published once a year in May.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

 

Editorial Policy

“Materials Science and Applied Chemistry” is an open access journal published once a year: in May in print and electronically. Articles are assigned a DOI number (Digital Object Identifier) whereby it becomes possible to search and cite them without delay. Journal covers research in different branches of chemistry and chemical technology, biotechnology, materials science, physics and biomechanics. The manuscripts submitted for consideration should contain new results and previously unpublished material.

The manuscripts are accepted in English. The submissions should be made electronically at msac@rtu.lv and comply with the Requirements for Manuscripts Published in the Scientific Journal of Riga Technical University “Materials Science and Applied Chemistry”.

The submitted manuscripts are single-blind peer-reviewed by an expert in the relevant field. The authors are provided with feedback. After the peer review the managing editor assesses the paper’s suitability for publication in the journal and informs the authors about the decision.

After the article has been accepted for publication it goes to the production editor. The production editor makes any necessary corrections and sends the proof to the author for approval. There are no publication charges.

The authors are asked to sign License to Publish governed by the Creative Commons Attribution license in which the author warrants that the article is original, written by stated author/s, has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author and free of any third party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author/s.

All articles published in the journal are archived in the OA repository of Riga Technical University. The print version of the journal is published by RTU Press – the publishing house of Riga Technical University.

Fees and Charges

The journal is not charging Article Publication Charges for any accepted article.

 

Plagiarism and Copyright Infringement

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their works are unique, and that they fully acknowledge the source of any content which is not entirely the authors’ own. The journal will check articles for plagiarism (i.e. reproducing any content without attribution and permission) using Similarity Check (iThenticate tool) and considers the inclusion of plagiarised content to be misconduct by the authors.

 

The editorial board is participating in a growing community of Similarity Check System's users in order to ensure that the content published is original and trustworthy.
